When she’s not in her home studio, Sunny can be found at her sons’ sporting events, walking along the beach, volunteering in her community, or spending time with family. Each summer, they retreat to their beach cottage on Cape Hatteras Island, where Sunny often begins a new series inspired by the shifting light and rhythm of the sea.

Sunny Altman was born and raised in Southern California, where the rhythm of the ocean and the beauty of the desert have long shaped her creative spirit. From a young age, she loved drawing, making things by hand, and finding magic in color and texture. Her passion for art deepened in high school after taking an AP Art History course, which led her to study art and art history abroad in Florence, Italy—a life-changing experience that sparked her love of travel and artistic exploration.
